- John F. Pelot, enlisted into Ninth Florida Infantry, Company K on 3 September 1863
at Lake City, Florida and deserted on 20 November 1863. Source: Hartman and Coles Biographies of Florida's Confederate and
Union Soldiers, page 983. Note: This John F. Pelot is not to be confused with the John Francis Pelot [#222], b. 3 December 1830. This John, sometimes listed as
John T. Pelot, was married to Mary Jane Fogg. This John Francis Pelot served in the
Civil War as a private in Captain Josh McGahagin's Company First Florida Reserves and also
in Captain E.D. Howse's Company, Home Guards (Florida Pension #01013).
